Tecta America New England, LLC
2 Sterling Road
North Billerica, MA 01862
Tecta America New England was founded as Delta Roofing in 1988 and in 2007, we became a part of Tecta America. Our installation and service area cover all of New England, making us one of the largest and most respected roofing contractors in the region. We take great pride in the expert quality of our work, including the Evergreen Solar Plant in Massachusetts, the Thames River Bridge in Connecticut and the Church of St. Gregory the Great in Rhode Island.
Peter Owens, President
Mr. Owens attended Plymouth State in Plymouth New Hampshire from 1976 to 1980 with a BS in Geology and a minor in business. After spending four years in the ski industry, Mr. Owens went into the roofing business. After being the General Manager of Nightingale Roofing in Hollis New Hampshire for several years, Mr. Owens went on to start his own firm in 1988 along with Brett Chapman. In 2007 they were approached with the idea of merging with Tecta America. Tecta had divisions all over the country, with the exception of New England. The concept of being able to provide better service and less cost to the customer and being able to offer more opportunities to employees made the decision to merge very simple. Since the merger Mr. Owens has maintained his role as Manager of the New England divisions and has kept on all of the original employees.
Jay Maschmeier, Corporate Director of Operations and Safety
Mr. Maschmeier has been in the roofing trade his entire life and spent the better part of the last ten years supervising a field of over 170 employees for the New England Division of Tecta America. Our quality and safety record are a reflection from his efforts. Over the years Tecta America has collected every major manufacturer’s award for quality excellence and our worker’s compensation rate is one of the lowest in the industry. In 2009, Mr. Maschmeier was awarded the National Safety Excellence Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors. Less than 100 contractors were recipients of this distinction, selected from a pool of 94,000 applicants.
Andrew Shinner, General Manager
Mr. Shinner joined Tecta America New England in June 2010, after spending four years in business development and project management for Otis Elevator Company. Before becoming general manager in April 2011, he held positions as a service sales representative and as a solar project manager. He is a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) certificate holder and has managed multiple large solar projects in Massachusetts. He holds a BS in both logistics and marketing from the University of Maryland, and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
